Design

Sitting well above sea-level on the eastern rise of Newton Gully, the site at 45 Randolph Street has a north-facing aspect for great sun and spectacular views of the city and harbour. 

Inspired by the varied urban landscape surrounding the site, Construkt Architects have designed a refined building that feels at home in this architecturally-diverse neighbourhood. 

The 9-level development has a sophisticated palette of naturally-finished concrete, tonal metallic cladding and large faces of glass – with timber soffits to add a touch of warmth to the monochromatic visage.

The northern façade has a bold linear form that is accentuated by the deep reveals of the full-width terraces. Protruding glass boxes – which contain the master bedrooms in particular layouts – and extended intertenancy walls provide articulation and depth. The penthouse level is clad in charcoal metal to cap the building.

Two Bedroom Living

Interiors

Proxima Residences features a mix of apartments from 1 bedroom to luxurious penthouses, but the most common typology is the two-bedroom, north-facing apartments.

These carefully considered units are exceptionally spacious compared with similar two bed options on the market and are defined by their large outdoor terraces – that in many cases run the full width of the apartment. In all three of the two-bed layouts, the master bedroom and open plan living extend into this terrace through large, floor-to-ceiling sliders. The master bedrooms also feature walk-in wardrobes and ensuites, a simple luxury often missed in this size of apartment.

There are a number of other typologies spread around the building including one bedrooms, one plus study, and a three bedroom unit but all share the same high quality specifications, thoughtful planning, large balconies and sweeping views.
